As Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel, Dan is responsible for advising management on legal issues affecting the firm and its clients. He is also responsible for setting corporate governance and managing various contractual, corporate, and regulatory matters requiring legal expertise.

Dan brings 28 years of experience in legal and compliance leadership in global asset management. Prior to joining Los Angeles Capital, he served as Global Chief Compliance Officer, Deputy General Counsel, and Manager of Global Legal Affairs at Western Asset Management, supporting a global program across seven international affiliates. Before that, he worked for over six years in the Corporate Transaction group at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, LLP.

Dan has deep product development experience focused on institutional separate accounts globally, and both retail and private fund complexes worldwide. He has led complex, cross‑border regulatory initiatives spanning the SEC, CFTC, NFA, FINRA, and international regulators (FCA, MAS, ASIC, FSS), and has represented firms before prospects, clients, regulators, and other stakeholders.

Dan earned a JD, magna cum laude, and an MBA (Finance) from Pepperdine University, and a BA in Economics and Government from Claremont McKenna College.
